CarpinAngola invests USD 7.5 million in new facilities
CarpinAngola invested 7.5 million USD in the construction of an industrial unit in the province of Luanda, said the business director, Bruno Santos, in statements to the Market. The construction of the new infrastructure, according to Bruno Santos, took place between 2018 and October 2020 and will allow an increase in the workforce, from 122 to 182 workers, plus 60 job vacancies, compared to previous years.
The investment by CarpinAngola (a company dedicated to the production, finishing of carpentry and furniture articles) will enable the improvement and manufacture of new products, increasing the response, as well as competitiveness in the market. Despite the bet on improving the infrastructure, Bruno Santos points out the training of staff as the main challenge of that company (present in the Angolan market for almost 11 years), in face of the scarcity of specialized local labor.
"Public-private investment must continue, because only in this way can companies survive". As for the operational question, she said that CarpinAngola maintained its activity at 100% during the exception period, caused by the pandemic of COVID-19, a fact that allowed it to safeguard jobs and “continued to be consulted and elected for the realization of several projects related to the carpentry and furniture sector ”.
“Only with rigor and quality in the work performed can companies survive, these being the premises by which CarpinAngola is governed”, said Bruno Santos, referring to the prudence that organizations (especially those linked to the civil construction sector) should have in the face of the financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.
